SC / ST COMMITTEE

To adhere to the guidelines of Government of India and Following the directions issued by AICTE, the Scheduled Caste (SC) /Scheduled Tribes (ST) Caste Committee in the Institution is constituted to ensure the continued welfare of the reserved category. The cell has been established to support and to bring students from such communities in the main stream. The committee also acts as a redressal forum for the students and employees belonging to the SC/ST category to reach out in case of any grievances that they may face and render them necessary help in solving their academic as well as administrative problems.

Objectives of The Committee:

  • To counsel and guide SC/ST students and help them manage academic and personal issues of college life effectively.
  • To take necessary measures to ensure effective implementation of the policies, programs, and schemes of the State and Central Governments for SC/ST students, if any.
  • To guide SC/ST students of the Institute to optimally utilize the benefits of the schemes offered by the State Governments, Government of India (GOI), and AICTE.

Practice:

  • The Internal Complaints Committee will examine all matters relating to women on the campus and will make suggestions and proposals to the institute administration regarding such matters.
  • The Committee will admit complaints from:
    • Female employees on harassment and discrimination in the workplace by other employees.
    • Female students on harassment and discrimination in the classroom and in relation to academic activities by faculty and staff.
    • Female residents on harassment, assault, and other forms of misbehavior by employees.
  • The Committee will follow relevant Acts, Rules, Office Memorandums (OM) of the Government of India, and Court Orders as applicable from time to time.
  • The Committee will institute an Enquiry Committee as it deems fit to examine particular complaints.
  • The Committee will make recommendations on actions to be taken on specific complaints.

Students-Roles And Responsibilities:

  • The Student Co-Ordinator representing the SC/ST students shall actively engage and express the opinions and suggestions of fellow students to improve the effectiveness of academic and personal support, as well as the implementation of policies and schemes of the State and Central Governments for SC/ST students.
  • The Student Co-Ordinator will address issues faced by SC/ST students. Any concerns may be formally registered during SC/ST Cell Committee meetings.
  • The Student Co-Ordinator will act as a representative of SC/ST students and facilitate communication regarding the implementation and awareness of State and Central Government schemes and programs for SC/ST communities.
  • As per university guidelines, the college constitutes the SC/ST Cell Committee, which provides necessary information to students of SC/ST communities. Meetings are conducted by the Cell periodically to address student needs and share updates.
